Tithorea harmonia brunnea
Fairly common up to 1100 m. Attracted to bait. Markings are somewhat variable. Other subspecies may occur, especially in N areas.
Similar species: Heliconius species lack red on the 'back of the neck' and have shorter antennae, among other differences. Most 'tigerwing' Ithomiini are much smaller; some Melinaea are most similar but have more rounded FW, and patterns differ; they are also unlikely to be seen at bait.
Tithorea tarricina tagarma
Rare at 1050 m.
Similar species: See T. harmonia brunnea for differences with other genera, but T. tarricina tagarma is also more uniquely patterned.
