Marpesia chiron
Uncommon up to 1400 m., probably common in lowlands. Usually found puddling; attracted to bait. I don't know which subspecies occur(s) in Cusco.
Similar species: M. egina (I have no Cusco records) is similar on D but V is entirely white with thin orange lines (similar to M. crethon). Compare also with superficially similar Hypanartia dione dione, although V pattern is completely different.
Marpesia crethon
Uncommon up to 1050 m., probably more common in lowlands. Puddles, attracted to bait.
Similar species: D distinctive; V recalls M. egina (I have no Cusco records) which has D similar to M. chiron.
Marpesia corinna
Fairly common 1400-2250 m., probably a bit lower. Usually found puddling; also attracted to bait.
Similar species: Both sexes similar to M. marcella marcella; I'm not sure how to distinguish females. Male marcella has wider orange band DFW, extending onto DHW apex, and lacks orange in tail.
Marpesia marcella marcella
Rare(?) at 1000-1050 m. Puddles.
Similar species: See the more common M. corinna.
