Locally fairly common at 2400 m., probably lower. May be more common in dry valleys, but likely to occur in more humid areas including lowlands. Visits flowers.

Fairly common(?) at 2400(higher, lower?) m.
Similar species: S. rufofusca, which is probably much more widespread, lacks orange in post-median and submarginal areas VFW.
Strymon istapa istapa
Rare(?) up to 1500 m. Attracted to flowers.
Similar species: Very similar to S. bubastus bubastus; I'm not confident identifying the two species.
Strymon bubastus bubastus
Uncommon 2150-2400 m. in dry valleys; probably occurs throughout at lower elevations especially in disturbed habitats. Visits flowers.
Similar species: See S. istapa istapa.
