Chalodeta lypera
Common up to 1050 m. Attracted to bait; occasionally puddles.
Similar species: C. pescada (mostly found at higher elevations) is darker overall on D - note especially thick black submarginal line DHW; V is very different.
Chalodeta panurga
Uncommon up to 1100 m. Attracted to bait and spitwads.
Similar species: D more strongly tinged blue than similar species; perhaps most similar to the larger C. pescada, which has a weaker glittering maringal line on both D wings among other differences.
Chalodeta pescada
Uncommon 1050-1350 m. Attracted to bait.
Similar species: Found mostly at higher elevations than similar species, but with overlap. See C. lypera and C. panurga.
Chalodeta chlosine
Uncommon(?) up to 1050 m. Attracted to bait.
Similar species: Distinguished from C. chitinosa and C. chaonitis by more uniformly dark (almost black) D and especially by solid white DHW fringe.
Chalodeta chitinosa
Rare(?) up to 1350 m., probably somewhat more common in lowlands. Attracted to bait.
Similar species: D overall looks intermediate between C. chlosine and C. chaonitis; note especially checkered HW fringe.
Chalodeta chaonitis
Fairly common(?) up to 1350 m. Attracted to bait and occasionally mud.
Similar species: See C. chlosine and C. chitinosa. C. chlosine is usually the most common of the three, and distinguished by dark central patches on both D wings and a greyish HW fringe.
