Caria mantinea

Uncommon(?) up to 550 m. Puddles, and attracted to bait. I'm not sure which subspecies occur(s) in Cusco.

Similar species: C. castalia (I have no Cusco records) lacks the bright orange on DHW margin. Red on VFW seems variable in both species, but might be useful for identification - I just don't understand how!

Caria chrysame

Uncommon at 1050 m., probably slightly higher. Puddles, attracted to bait. I'm not sure which subspecies occur(s) in Cusco.

Similar species: C. sponsa has a glittering green patch near DFW tornus, among other differences.
