Prepona dexamenus dexamenus
Rare(?) at 1050 m. Attracted to bait.
Similar species: Superficially recalls Archaeoprepona meander, which has a broad pale margin on both V wings, among other differences. See also P. laertes.
Prepona laertes
Fairly common up to 1350 m. Puddles, and attracted to bait. I'm not sure which subspecies occur(s) in Cusco.
Similar species: Recalls P. dexamenus dexamenus, but V more complex, including the divide between pale base and dark outer half being uneven.
Prepona eugenes
Uncommon up to 1100 m. Attracted to bait. I'm not sure which subspecies occur(s) in Cusco.
Similar species: Most similar to P. diephile but overall V colour differs, and VFW submarginal area includes isolated black loops.
Prepona deiphile
Fairly common 1050-1150 m., probably higher and lower. Attracted to bait and spitwads. I'm not sure which subspecies occur(s) in Cusco.
Similar species: See P. eugenes.
