Pedaliodes poesia
Uncommon(?) at 2150 m. Puddles, attracted to bait. I'm not sure which subspecies occur(s) in Cusco.
Similar species: See P. auraria and P. patizathes. Others?
Pedaliodes patizathes
Rare(?) at 2700 m. Puddles.
Similar species: V generally more heavily marked than P. poesia; see also P. auraria.
Pedaliodes auraria
Uncommon(?) at 2800-2950 m. Puddes, and attracted to bait.
Similar species: P. poesia and P. patizathes do not have the string of pale markings extending down from white patch along VHW costa. Others?
Pedaliodes ackeryi
Locally common(?) at 3200 m. Puddles.
Similar species: Four tiny submarginal dots VFW are distinctive among similar species, but wear off easily. P. melvillei is allopatric.
Pedaliodes melvillei
Fairly common 2750-3500 m. Attracted to bait.
Similar species: See P. ackeryi, which occurs further south.
Pedaliodes manis
Common 1350-2400 m. Puddles, attracted to bait.
Similar species: Markings extremely similar to P. montagna but FW shape is different: apex is rounder, and margin is slightly convex (not straight). I have trouble making these distinctions on some individuals; there are perhaps other similar species.
Pedaliodes montagna
Fairly common 1100-2000 m. Attracted to bait and rotting fruit.
Similar species: See P. manis for subtle differences in FW shape; montagna is perhaps more often found at lower elevations, but with extensive overlap.
Pedaliodes asconia
Locally common(?) 2700-2750 m. Attracted to bait and mud.
Similar species: Very similar to P. cledonia molesta; I'm not confident separating the two. P. asconia is perhaps only found in N areas.
Pedaliodes cledonia molesta
Uncommon 2550-2950 m. Attracted to bait.
Similar species: I don't know how to separate this species from P. asconia.
