Common 850-2150 m. Puddles, attracted to bait.
Similar species: The only Epiphile with extensive blue DHW. VHW more strongly patterned than E. chrysites.
Epiphile chrysites
Uncommon(?) 2000-2100 m., probably somewhat higher and lower. Attracted to bait and mud.
Similar species: VHW plainer than others; most similar to E. boliviana boliviana which has a dark diagonal line from cell-end to the margin.
Epiphile boliviana boliviana
Fairly common 1350-2250 m. Puddles, and attracted to bait.
Similar species: Recalls E. chrysites but VHW more heavily marked; note especially the dark diagonal line from cell-end to margin.
