Similar species: Can be similar to P. effusa effusa but yellow patch DFW does not reach costa.
Potamanaxas latrea tyndarus
Rare at 2150 m., probably lower. Puddles, and attracted to bait.
Similar species: See P. thestia.
Potamanaxas thestia
Rare(?) at 1050 m. Attracted to bait.
Similar species: Distinctive; P. latrea tyndarus (I have no Cusco records) has more extensive pale markings DFW including a dinstinct white post-discal spot in space 3.
Potamanaxas laoma cosna
Fairly common 1450-2150 m. Puddles, and attracted to bait.
Similar species: See P. frenda, which is much less common and mostly found at higher elevations. Others?
Potamanaxas frenda
Uncommon(?) 2000-2400 m. Usually found puddling.
Similar species: Generally recalls P. laoma cosna but DFW apical spots much less conspicuous.
